The third graders learned how to make their circles look like spheres using value and shading. They then created planets to make up a solar system...it was incredible how different they all turned out!
I was so impressed with the way these animal print came out! Each student sketched an "unusual animal" and then transferred their drawing to a styrofoam printing plate. They each then made two prints on different colored paper.
The second graders created giant crayons after looking at the work of pop artist Claus Oldenburg. Thank you to those families who have supplied myself and my students with loads of recycled materials! The crayons were made with cardboard tubes and tissue paper.
After creating the crayon, the students made the wrapper adding the crayola logo as well as the colors written in three languages.
